Company Profile

Goa Antibiotics & Pharmaceuticals Ltd. (GAPL), a subsidiary of HLL Lifecare Limited (a Miniratna Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India) was incorporated in the year 1980, as a joint Venture between Hindustan Antibiotics Ltd. (HAL) Pune and EDC Ltd (Govt. of Goa Undertaking), a premier financial institution of Goa. The share holdings of HAL in GAPL were transferred in favour of EDC LTD in the year 1987, with the consent of Government of India. Since then GAPL was  functioning as a  state Undertaking of  Government of Goa. On 19th of March 2014 74% of EDC’s shares were sold to HLL Lifecare Ltd. and GAPL became Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India.

The  Pharma Manufacturing unit and  Registered office of the   company is located at Tuem, a village of  Pernem Taluka in North Goa, and  is spread  over approximate 84,000 sq.mts  campus, comprising approximate 5200 sq.ft built up area. The manufacturing plant is situated in a pollution free environment and well connected with Road, Rail and Air. The nearest railway station (Pernem) is about 6 Kms, on Konkan Rail, 5 Kms from national highway NH17 and only 15 Kms away from the proposed International Airport at Mopa,  Pernem,  Goa.


Company’s GMP compliant Ayurvedic and Unani Product Manufacturing facilities   are located in pollution free environment at Foysagar Road, Ajmer, Rajasthan and Homoeopathic Product manufacturing facilities are located at Jaipur, Rajasthan.



The administrative control of the company rests with Board of Directors. Company’s day to day    operations, at various locations are managed by team of professionals under the leadership of Chief Executive Officer.
